This Italian heirloom forms large globe-shaped sweet red onions that store well over the winter months. It’s an intermediate-day variety that performs best between latitudes 32-42º. Skins are great for people new to natural dyeing. You can get lots of color variations by playing with mordant type and pH balance.

Start seeds indoors 10-12 weeks before your last frost, or direct sow outdoors 4-6 weeks before your last frost.
