This is our favorite pepper for making fermented hot sauces and sriracha. The spicy fruit is slightly smaller and milder than a typical jalapeño pepper. Beautiful purple flowers transform into equally beautiful peppers. We enjoyed the pop of purple in fresh salsas throughout the summer. The peppers mature from purple to red. The color of products made from the mature fruit is an incredibly bold fire engine red.
Note on our 2017 grown peppers: We had an isolation distance of 75' between varieties. Based on flower shapes we think it is highly unlikely that varieties crossed, but if you happen to see a fun outlier, let us know!
